Our Girls Need You!

Guiding in this region is growing at a fast pace and over the past two years Clackclose District Girlguiding has gone from strength to strength by increasing their current complement to encompass:

2 x Rainbow Units
3 x Brownie Units
2 x Guide Units
1 x Senior Section Unit

Due to the high demand of girls wanting to join the movement, Clackclose District is looking to expand by opening an additional Brownie and Guide Unit.

Working with young people and other volunteers helps develop valuable, transferable skills like event planning, time management, leadership skills and budgeting. Do you think you could make a difference to girls aged between 7 and 14 years of age and give something back to your local community? Are you looking for a rewarding challenge and think that you could get a new Unit off the ground?  Then you are the type of person that Clackclose District Girlguiding is looking for.

You can choose the volunteer role that matches your skills and time. Then we will help you build skills with training opportunities suited to your role that make your CV stand out. Take our Leadership Qualification, become a trained first aider or get qualified for outdoor activities such as climbing and kayaking.

Clackclose District has an excellent support network of qualified adult leaders, so you would not be alone in your Guiding journey.  Why not come along and join us at a taster session at one of our meetings and see what the girls  get up to or check us out on Twitter @CCGirlguiding

If you are interested in volunteering, please register via the Girlguiding website:  https://enquiryv.girlguiding.org.uk.

Spring has sprung!

Spring has sprung and we're feeling particularly 'hoppy' making our Easter Bunny Treat Bags.  After sewing faces, ears and the sides, we filled the bags with chocolate eggs and tied ribbon around the top.

Pamper yourself

To celebrate Mother’s Day, 1st Downham Market Guides held a pamper night. Mocktail bar, cakes, relaxing music, candles, cucumber on eyes, hand massages, gel-nails, shoulder massage and the most successful activity our Listening Project (similar to Radio Four’s)

There was a shoe box filled with questions which the Guide was to ask their Mum/Auntie/ Carer and also questions for the adults to ask their Guide.
A really relaxing and enjoyable evening was had by all. Well done girls J
